NEWS: Output's Breaking The Rock brings top metal writers and PRs to Belfast

IF one was to scan the mainstream media you'd be forgiven for thinking that the Output music event had skipped out metal and heavy music in general.

But fear not, because a select panel of rock and metal writers and PR people will be appearing in the city.

On the panel are: Remfry Dedman (The Independent's Rock and Metal critic), Adam Reiss (Metal Hammer), Simon Glacken (I Like Press) and Becky Laverty (Pioneer Press).

The event takes place on Thursday, February 8th from 1:30 to 2:30pm at The Works, Fourth Floor, The Mac, Belfast.

Giving an insight into the machinations and techniques for writing and promoting this is one event in the Output programme that is essential for bands, bloggers, PRs, and anyone with an interest in getting an insight behind scenes.

Organised by Belfast City Council in partnership with Invest Northern Ireland’s Music Business Support Programme, the conference, in addition to the metal panel will include discussions, music sessions, workshops and speed networking events as well as keynote speeches from award-winning musicians and managers of globally recognised talent.

Amongst the other events are:
Everything Everything’s Jeremy Pritchard on recorded music and streaming in 2018;
Christian Tierney (a 20-year old videographer who has worked with The 1975, The Weekend, Kendrick Lamar, James Bay and Conor McGregor on ‘The Sound Of Success’);
Peter Bradbury (Head of Music, Sky) and Nicky Bignall (Head of Music licensing, BBC) on placing music in UK television;
A ‘Music for Games’ panel featuring Ben Sumner (Feel For Music), Hyperduck Soundworks and Janesta Boudreau;
